Role DescriptionTo support the strategic planning unit in undertaking business intelligence and research for the purpose of developing strategic insights and business strategies.Required to undertake specific projects from time to time for business improvement and transformation.ResponsibilitiesResearch for and identify key sources of data and information, undertake analysis, and develop insights on the strategic issues and implications of industry developments, to enhance AET’s knowledge and business intelligence:Maintain and up-to-date Knowledge Database with collation of industry, market, customer, and competitor information;Conduct SWOT analysis for AET and key competitors;Perform External Environment Analysis (EEA) to identify and assess key market trends, issues, opportunities, and threats;Analyse data and produce insights on new industry/market developments and innovations, customers’ strategies, and competitor activities; Produce reports to management and internal stakeholders on a regular and ad hoc basis; andPerform other research work to support projects, decision papers, etc.Participate in the Division’s sustainability (ESG) initiatives:Review of the Sustainability Strategy implementation group wide to identify key achievements and perform gap analysis;Identify climate-related risks and opportunities with financial quantification and metrics for monitoring; andSet GHG targets for shipping operations on short and medium term.Special Project: Conduct Scope 2 and Scope 3 scoping exercise (business travel, supply chain, etc.) and review the extent of scope inclusion for AET. Establish Scope 3 GHG (absolute CO2 emissions) baseline.Undertake risk management activities including:Review of the Risk Register;Tracking and reporting of Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) and Emerging Risk signposts;Risk assessments (market/industry events, projects, and partner/partnerships); andBusiness Continuity Plan (BCP) documentation and simulation drills.RequirementsGraduate who has a background in Sustainability, Environmental policy and planning, Probability, and/or Statistics as a part of their curriculum will have an advantage.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Strong organizational and analytical skills.Ability to take the initiative and effectively present information.Ability to work independently and collaboratively.Duration of Traineeship6 Months
