The Legal team works closely with all functions across the Group to provide timely, accurate and practical legal support. This facilitates decision-making in the delivery of efficient service to our customers, while ensuring that the Groups interests are protected. The Secretariat team supports the boards of UOB and its Singapore subsidiaries in the discharge of their responsibilities and provides advice on governance matters. It also facilitates communication between the non-executive directors and senior management, and manages the induction and professional development programme for directors.Job ResponsibilitiesA role to provide legal support principally for Group Wholesale Banking (GWB). Responsibilities include:Reviewing, negotiating and drafting loan transaction documents for GWB units including Corporate Banking Group, Global Financial Institutions Group, Commercial Banking and Business BankingReviewing, drafting and clearance of consent letters, waiver of breach letters, campaign/promotion terms and conditions and/or marketing materialsReviewing, drafting and clearance of non-disclosure agreements, MOUs, collaboration/partnership agreement and other general corporate agreementsProvide legal support and advice to a diverse range of legal queries (including queries relating to dispute, litigation, borrower restructuring, indemnities, Banking Act and PDPA) raised by GWB Business UnitsWorking with GWB Business Units to identity legal risks and implementing viable and effective solutionsJob RequirementsDegree in Law from a recognized university and preferably admitted to the Singapore Bar5 to 12 years PQE in legal practice and/or related in-house role in the financial industryPrior experience in banking and finance would be advantageousAs successful candidate will work in a legal team which supports the GWB business units, he/she should be a collaborative team player with an ability to also work independentlyAbility to prioritize, work under pressure and handle multiple ongoing assignmentsGood stakeholder management skills requiredBe a part of UOB FamilyUOB is an equal opportunity employer.
