Are you ready to jump onboardWe are looking for a Senior Technical Service Engineer and the location is Singapore.Technical Services is one of the most important technical knowledge centres within the Marine Power organization in Wärtsilä, supporting internal and external stakeholders during the life cycle of products and solutions delivered or serviced by Wärtsilä.To strengthen our expertise and capacity in the engine and plant automation products and related ancillary systems in Middle East & Asia, we are now looking for a skilled Senior Technical Service Engineer to join our team in Singapore. As a Technical Expert in Wartsila Technical Services, you will find yourself in the technical heart of exciting world of Maritime and Energy industry. You will report to General Manager, Technical Services L1 4-stroke And PropulsionAs a Technical Expert you ensure customer satisfaction by providing high quality and on-time technical support.You will:Solve technical and operating problems of the customer as well as report and propose the product improvement needs in order to ensure customer satisfactionVisit sites when deeper product, system and/or performance analysis is neededAssist sales team in promoting new service products to customers and be active in capturing new sales opportunities (leads)Assist and coach field service engineers in troubleshooting responsible productsFollow the relevant specialist environment - both internally and externally - through literature, research and contact with other businessesAttend customer meetings and seminars in cooperation with our Sales DepartmentProvide specialist expertise through internal product training (internal staff)Work in close cooperation with other Technical Service teams in the region and in the product companiesRequirements:Relevant technical education (BSc or MSc or equivalent in Automation or Electrical engineering)Minimum 3 years of working experience within 4 Stroke machinery controls and automation systems. The marine and offshore engineering industry in Singapore has come a long way since a group of shipyards came together in 1968 to form a collective body to champion and develop the ship repair and shipbuilding industry.
Today, the industry comprises a comprehensive ecosystem of shipyards, classification societies and companies engaged in manufacturing, supply and servicing of marine and offshore equipment and products as well as providers of naval design, engineering services and marine solutions.
Wärtsilä In Singapore was set up in 1982 and today, it has over 1000 professionals in 4 different locations in the west, to serve our customers in both the marine and the power plant sectors.  We have three workshops in Pandan Crescent with a total floor area of 18,588 sq m  for the engine servicing, overhauling, repairing and reconditioning of marine 2-stroke and 4-stroke engines of all makes , one workshop for Electrical & Automation services in Gul Drive and one workshop in Benoi for the pumps. Our workshop in Gul, builds switchboards for control panels for marine, offshore and landbased industries. We also have a wharf of 110 m and we can provide mechanical engineering works and emergency repair alongside.
On 22nd September 2008, Wärtsilä acquired a leading naval architecture and ship design company Conan Wu & Associates Pte Ltd (CWA), headquartered in Singapore. On June 9th 2009, Conan Wu & Associates have changed its name to Wärtsilä Ship Design Singapore Pte Ltd.
On 1st January 2010, Wärtsilä Automation Services Singapore Pte Ltd was integrated into Wärtsilä Singapore Pte Ltd.
