Job Description

Project Manager – Vice President – CIB Banking Technology / Core Transaction ServicesAbout the TeamJ.P. Morgan Payments provides Payments & Commerce, Trade and Liquidity solutions to clients across the world. Teams are constantly innovating, using the latest technology and data analytics to deliver specialized solutions to help clients grow and streamline their businesses. Core Transaction Services (CTS) is a technology organization (within) responsible for transaction processing platforms globally for the Treasury Services business, with primary focus on payments and receivables. A key agenda over the next few years is the build-out of the strategic payments platform to replace the current regional payments systems and external clearing integration. The APAC delivery team covers the rollout of the new platform to the APAC branches in addition to supporting the teams on regulatory commitments and enterprise wide programs such as ISO.Job SummaryThis role will be responsible to manage large regulatory and transformation projects across the payments portfolio, supporting the APAC Program Manager. Primary focus will be ensuring multiple workstreams within each project align to project objectives, such as requirements, software design and development, infrastructure buildout, manage partner systems dependencies, testing, rollout and client migration. The role will accountable to technology, business and operations stakeholders for meeting committed scope, milestones, resolving risks and issues, proactive planning etc. This is an individual contributor role with no direct people management responsibility.Key ResponsibilitiesKey Stakeholder management and Project reportingPartner with Business and Operations stakeholders to govern project scope and prioritization of system enhancementsOrganize and chair various project working group and steering committee meetingsParticipate in project Agile ceremonies, provide timely status reporting including data driven project reporting using burndown chartsManage the budget and costing of each project – from initial estimation until completionProject Monitoring and ControlEngage the various development teams – are aligned with and committed to the project plans and to track their delivery.Manage and report all project risks and issues, and work towards mitigation and/or remediation and ensure prompt escalation of project issues as warrantedEnsure the project meets internal control, audit and compliance requirementsEnsure Architecture alignment of delivery approach and completion of design artefactsTrack all cross-impact partner teams to ensure they are aligned with the project planHave flexibility in running project that are of type small enhancements to large transformations.Test Management ensuring test scope is agreed and track progress of test executionWork with Environment team to ensure availability of test environmentsEngage Infrastructure team on server or datacenter buildout where there are onshore hosting requirementsSkills RequiredBachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering or related disciplinesMinimum 12 years of experience in Project Management including managing project financials.Advanced understanding of various end-to-end software development processes (Agile and Waterfall) starting from scope of the work to build, testing, releaseProven experience in the role of project manager/program manager with a minimum of 5 or more years of working experience in the banking domain (preferably payments) with strong technical and project management backgroundExperience in running complex in-house development projects with multiple interconnecting systems and interdependenciesProven ability to achieve quality results in a high-pressure, rapidly changing environment requiring flexibility / adaptability to changeable directivesStrong communication, presentation, influencing, interpersonal skills and excellent stakeholder management & negotiation skillsStrong analytical skills and attention to detailStrong collaborator with ability to foster relationships effectively with diverse groups across geographiesSelf-starter with initiative, accountability, and ability to work independently as well as collaborate with the teamDesirable:Minimum 5 years of Cash management/Transaction Banking projects delivery in payments domainPMP/CSM certification or equivalent project management certificationExperience in running projects adopting both Agile software development & Traditional waterfall methodologiesHands on experience with project management tools such as JIRA, Confluence, MS Project etc.,
