The Legal Department of JPMorgan is seeking a highly motivated individual to join us in supporting the International Trust Services portion of the Private Bank Global Trusts & Estates business.About the Private Bank: With more than 160 years of experience, J.P. The Private Bank is involved with every facet of wealth management, including investments, liquidity and credit management, and tax and estate planning. Roles and Responsibilities:Provide legal advice and support to the International Trust Services business, with particular emphasis on issues with respect to trust administration, tax, succession and estate planning under various statutes and common law applicable to trust structures administered by our trust companies located in The Bahamas and Singapore. Advise on issues related to the establishment of trust structures and underlying entities, and the administration of trust assets that include financial assets as well as real estate and other types of specialty assets.Manage engagements of external counsel and actively engage on analysis and deliverables including cross-border coordination of advice with respect to international trust structures with legal entities and parties in multiple jurisdictions.Advise and coordinate with internal and external litigation counsel on issues of trust law.Research and interpret applicable laws and regulations including international informational exchange and tax reporting regulations. Work closely with the business, other members of the Legal department, and other support and control functions (e.g., Compliance, Risk) on general legal and regulatory matters that affect the International Trust Services business and the trust companies located in The Bahamas and Singapore.Location: SingaporeQualifications: Qualified lawyer in a common law jurisdiction.Minimum 10 years PQE gained at a top tier law firm or at a financial institution is required.Extensive knowledge of multi-jurisdictional trust products and services is required.Minimum of a bachelors degree or equivalent.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to communicate well and work in a cross-functional team to achieve goals.We’re a global company whose primary business language is English and so fluency in English is required.CONFLICTS OF INTEREST: All candidates for roles in the Legal department must successfully complete a conflicts of interest clearance review prior to commencement of employment. LICENSING: Qualifications: JD or educational equivalent required.
