Job Description

Job DescriptionAsia Private Bank provides private banking services to ultra-high net worth (UHNW) and high net worth (HNW) individuals in the Asia, EMEA and LATAM regions.The Asia Client Onboarding - Business Sustainment Operations (BSO) Head role is located in Singapore and supports the Client Onboarding Management Team in the management and execution of a wide range of strategic and tactical initiatives and control agenda across Asia Private Bank Onboarding teams.The BSO Head will manage the team in Asia and act as a central point of coordination and as a source of subject matter expertise on business initiatives and audit/compliance/risk reviews. The role would be accountable to deliver strategic and tactical projects and will also be responsible to define and deliver on the Control agenda.The successful candidate must possess strong leadership and organizational skills, be able to think strategically while delivering tangible solutions, as well as demonstrate an ability to quickly assimilate complex information. Candidate should be able to work across different regional Onboarding teams to establish and implement a consistent solution.The candidate must have a proven track record in operations, risk and control management disciplines, and project handling experience. The candidate must possess or be able to develop subject matter expertise in the various components of the Onboarding experience (cross border, legal requirements, operational processes, etc.). The candidate must strive in a fast-paced environment, enjoy multitasking, be an excellent team player and demonstrate a can-do attitude in the face of challenges.The successful candidate will drive issue resolution, collaborate with stakeholders inside and outside of the Onboarding organization to execute consistently on deliverables and communicate status updates and strategic direction to stakeholders.Responsibilities include:Business Initiatives agenda:Work closely with key business stakeholders, including but not limited to business and operational teams, Legal, Compliance, Business Management, Oversight & Control, Audit, Business Initiative Leaders, project teams and Technology on fulfilling responsibilities of the Client Onboarding team and implementing the business strategyActively engaging in project requirement meetings; influencing design and functional requirements through analysis; providing thoughtful input to ensure business needs are met; identifying and documenting project gaps, impacts, and risksDeveloping process flows for strategic initiatives and assisting in the development of operating models.Researching and documenting current state processes and applying appropriate changes to support business requests/needsConduct GAP analysis; identify key areas of risk or concern and impact to the businessLead and coordinate working groups, business forums and governance meetingsMaintain a governance and reporting structure to ensure objectives are clearly defined, deliverables are documented with associated metrics to measure output and all testing team members/volunteers remain engaged and on track with target deadlinesCommunicate issues effectively through project implementationMaintain effective communication with stakeholders and business partners with the purpose of informing interested parties on all key milestones, accomplishments, programs, activities and overall successesControls agenda:Define control agenda; monitor and track risk and control priorities, and roadmapProvide Exam management, Audit testing support and monitoringImplement and support a plan to achieve the operational risk management goals of the business, including monitoring and reporting requirementsResponsible for Issue Management, Escalation and RemediationEscalating project issues and risks appropriatelyManagement Support:Create and support various management reporting tools, including scorecards, weekly executive summaries, and other executive reporting needsCommunication management – develop monthly business review, presentations for senior audiences, content for Town Hall meetings, and communication plans for stakeholder engagementRequired Skills and Qualifications:BS/BA Degree - Accounting, Finance, or Business preferredFluent in Excel, PowerPoint, Visual BasicWillingness to learn new technical skills / explore new tools15+ years of experience in financial services/banking industry, with a demonstrated track-record of delivery and/or relevant experience in risk and control management requiredExperience in Operations management with a proven track recordExperience managing across multiple locations a plusClient Onboarding and/or documentation analysis experience preferredA can do attitude is a must with a passion for driving best practicesFamiliarity with regulatory landscape across AsiaDrives results through strong team spirit, leadership, people, communication and influencing skillsIn-depth knowledge of risk management techniques from both a detection and mitigation perspectiveComfortable with change, ambiguity, debate, conflict and informed risk takingMulti-tasker who can manage multiple streams of work concurrently, prioritize effectively and act with a sense of urgencyAbility to successfully navigate a complex infrastructure that involves numerous groups and individualsConsultative in approach, understanding and anticipating business partner needs and proactively delivering solutionsAbility to work effectively in a team environment and ability to adapt to a rapidly changing business and technological environmentWillingness to make decisions, while ensuring buy in from stakeholdersAbility to challenge and influence stakeholders to ensure decisions are well thought out and can be executed from an operations perspectiveProactive and responsive communicator, maintaining frequent contact with business partners, listening to understand needs, and taking ownership of incoming and outgoing messagesCapable of managing both BAU activities as well as strategic initiativesAbility to directly address conflicts and escalate issues where appropriateContinuous improvement and change management mindset, questioning conventional ways of managing the business and driving change to improve processesProactive control and risk management, addressing gaps in processes and escalating issues to benefit the business and clients in a dynamic environmentAbility to communicate clearly and confidently; able to influence internal and external stakeholders; experience in creating executive level reporting and facilitating meetings with stakeholders at various levels within the organizationAnalytical and review skills with the capacity to think laterally and convey an understanding of the big picture and draw the correct conclusions from reviewsAbility to self-develop and independently problem solve under strict deadlines
